'We're investigating overbilling, kickbacks,' FBI office says.
Four employees have been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
"We're investigating overbilling, kickbacks, and bribe payments made to employees of the Bossier Parish school system in return for air conditioning work to be funneled to one company," said Steve Hall, a senior agent with the FBI's Shreveport office. "The investigation is progressing rapidly."
Air Repair, a Bossier City-based business, was contracted by the school district to install air conditioning units in various schools. Bossier Schools Superintendent Ken Kruithof said the school district is no longer doing business with the defunct company.
